D E Plant becomes part of The Thriplow Group

Following continued record growth DE Plant one of the UKs leading Bond Coating and Hot Joint Spraying companies will become part of The Thriplow Group.

The Thriplow Group currently operates from Thriplow Group Head Office, in Duxford, with strategic depots placed across the UK to support its national operation.

DE Plant have, for a number of years continued to raise service levels within the Highways Industry and this move will enable the company to draw on the support and investment needed to continue that journey.

Group Managing Director Scott Emmett said:

These are very exciting times for us all at The Thriplow Group. When I started DE Plant in 2012, it was always my intention to deliver a reliable, flexible, safe, service driven company and I am proud we have achieved that. We are looking to double the size of the fleet and turnover over the next 12 months both organically and by way of acquisition. so the timing is now right to bring the companies together under the one roof”.

The Thriplow Group will currently consist of D E Plant, Thriplow Tyres, Thriplow Safety Systems and Thriplow Gas.

Group Operations Manager Chris Cook added,

We are unique within this industry as we run a fleet of vehicles ourselves as well as supplying products, so we really understand the issues that downtime and Health and Safety bring. We must be able to support our own vehicles 24/7 so it was logical to open up that support to our customers. We have had issues with tyre management and lighting recently within our own fleet, so we have been trialling products on our vehicles and gaining factual evidence rather than taking on board what a salesman has told us. The highways industry is unlike other industries and there are many challenges that need to be overcome, so you really need to know how it works and there is no better way than to run vehicles yourself. With the data we have obtained, it has allowed us to make the right decision regarding what product to purchase, which again we will be able to share with our customers. We are currently looking to roll out some new technology for our drivers which will allow paperless reporting. This investment is crucial to us as it allows us to keep raising the service levels our customers receive.”

Scott concluded “I am really excited about the future for The Thriplow Group. There has been a lot of hard work put in by the team over the last few months to get to where we are today, but we are now ready to push forward and are structured to take advantage of the opportunities that we have. As a group I want to make sure the values I started with in 2012, are maintained. We will continue to be reliable, flexible, safe and service driven”.
